Well I hope everyone had a great Mothers Day!! My first Mother's day was a VERY LONG one, but a mother's love and job is endless!! Garett is sick with a stomach virus, which was very sad to see him just helpless. I was going on very little sleep in the early hours of Saturday morning, and he was just pooing too often. Lil guy was just whimpering forever it seemed. Then the lil toot started biting me in between whimpering and I started utilising my discipline skills..now Garett stop, stop, stop, on and on. Kyle said,"for the love of God what is going on?" I told him in a snippy tone,"he is sick can't you tell, and he is biting me as well, that is why I am telling him stop!" He said,"he is sick and little." Well I needed that pointed out....haha!! I had a look from hell I'm sure of it!! Then out from my sarcasm, Garett stops, and grins, then goes back to whimpering and biting..lucky me!!
Saturday Garett and I slept in for a while then my Mom called. She was in for a visit which I did see her for a little bit. That helped me get some sanity back for a moment!! Kyle had gone fishing, which I would have loved to go, but Garett was sick. Kyle came home and gave me a break so I could take a nap. Around 6 pm or so is when it became a joy ride!! Lil man was just whimpering and I got up and checked him, his butt exploded!! Really how much can an infant crap?? Well apparently ALOT!! I gave him his bottle and he went to sleep. He woke up about 1 hour later, and he threw up..projectile vomit..I was covered!! Really I have to find the humor somehow deep down, or it would drive me crazy!! I looked at his lil face with vomit coming out of his nose, and said, "well do you feel better?!" Garett looked at me and just smiled from ear to ear!! Even threw a poopin, raw butt, and projectile vomit, he was still all smiles!!
He is the only kid I know that if it was possible he would smile while vomiting!! Really I see that!! So we go take a bath and get cleaned up, and I pick him up off the changing table, then his butt explodes!! Really are you serious?? He had already gone through 5 footed pj's, 3 t shirts, 4 onsies, and blankets, sheets, and towels....he was going to sleep in a diaper with me that was it and final!! So I change him again, and finally get him to the bed, and he puts his little head down and drifts of to sleep on my shoulder. I just laid there and watched tv. He did wake up and want something to drink, and it was around 11pm. I made him a bottle..soy milk formula..he drinks about 2 ounces. He coughs, and then for a second I felt his belly do this funny thing, so I jump up, holding him over facing the floor, and he starts the projectile again!! Lucky me there was a puppy pad and I held him over it while he finished....that little pad really soaks up a lot!! I found another use for the puppy pad...haha!!
It went off and on til 5 am or so and he went to sleep. It was hard to see him crying and he put his little hand on my face, just wanting me to stop it for him. My heart just fell for him. It's so hard to see him so helpless and not understanding what is going on. Poor guy even dry heaved!! I did give offer water with pedialyte, but he only took little sips, and he would throw that up. So we stayed home and rested instead of going to my in-laws. I really wanted to go, but I knew we needed to get our rest. He was still happy and smiles through it all though. Kyle went to his Moms, and he did the laundry from the night. He really is a great husband and Dad. He told me Happy Mother's Day, and I know it's hard for you sometimes, I don't know how you do it?! I said, I have to find the humor, and when you think you can't somehow you just do, you have to, and most of all because I love my family. I love my job as a Mother, it's the most rewarding job!!
